Cold Weather Brings the Unexpected!!!

Wow!  This cold weather has really brought new merchandise along with the chills!  Is there something about cold weather that makes people want to renovate???  I'm beginning to think so!  We've has a great shipment of antiques arrive as well as many smalls...great stuff!

Back from Hiatus!

Well...we are back from our hiatus to the blogworld!  I am determined to be successful at this!  Here we go...


Traffic at the store has been wonderful!  It is so exciting to see our regular customers getting out of their cars.  And I am still amazed at how many new customers arrive each day!  How could they exist before Blu?  I know, right?
Just as I am planning to paint some super great pieces, cold weather is moving in for the weekend!  What timing!  Customers are thinking the same way as we've had 3 people today inquiring about painting pieces for them.  Come on spring!!!

Today I had the opportunity to tour the 2012 Decorator's Showhouse!  We've got our eye on several rooms...let's see where it takes us!  Shabby crazy antiques is looking good!

Here is a piece I just finished. I love this look. To think I was going to paint it! I used reverse technology...strip and sand. Isn't it great?

New Vendors!!!

Welcome to Mary, Pam and Susan...our newest vendors here at Blu!!!

Susan has moved into the second room on the right upstairs.  She is accumulating a great selection at great prices!  Good variety...good stuff!

Mary and Pam have set up their "Not Too Shabby" area upstairs in the rear.  Their space has been transformed into "shabby heaven".  You've got to see their creations!  And their prices are phenomenal!

Yesterday, Erica and I went to check on our display at the 2011 Decorator's Showhouse at the Jernigan Estate in Mountainbrook.  Dennis Glenn of Design-It Studios and Annie Underwood of L-Ann Designs did a wonderful job of showcasing our furniture with just the right touches!  Miss Tiffany looked beautiful, as usual, greeting visitors in tour Media and Concession areas.  I will post some photos tomorrow...gotta get them from Erica!  Can't wait for you to see them!
